The 51st Annual Colorado Language Arts Society Fall Regional Conference will explore the variety of stories humans share, and the stories teachers ask students to read and write. Keynote speakers Chris Crutcher, Rebecca Rule, and Ted Conover will share their powerful stories and describe the role of narratives in the Common Core. In addition, numerous sessions and workshops will address important topics like censorship; fostering LGBT identities in ELA; flipped classrooms; preparing for PARCC; teacher as writer; story poems; the latest YA Lit; and, research and reasoning as the neglected standard (among many others). The conference will be held October 10-11, 2014 at the School of Mines in beautiful Golden, Colorado. For more information and to register, click here. Pikes Peak Reading Council
